Countryside, Coastlines and Castles in abundance

The Turks Head is set in the heart of an area of outstanding natural beauty and more castles than any county in England, it hardly seems fair that we are also within a 20 minute journey of the stunning Northumbrian coast.

Activities

Coquetdale is a firm favourite with hikers, cyclists, anglers and astronomers due to our vast yet varied landscape, crystal clear streams and astounding views.

Music

The Anglo-Scottish borders have a rich cultural history of music. The Turks Head hosts an open mic, acoustic session on the first Tuesday of each month.

Rothbury hosts a traditional music festival in July which is increasing in size with each passing year.

Due to our Northumbrian location and proximity to Scotland, the area is very popular amongst family history researchers with an interest in Border Reivers.
